About Us

About Go Viral

Some questions are too small to look up and too interesting to forget.

Why does one McDonald’s have turquoise arches instead of gold? What are the big red spheres outside every Target for? Why do your legs jolt just as you’re falling asleep?

Go Viral exists for exactly those questions — and for the stories, oddities and moments that make people stop scrolling and say “wait, really?”

Our Mission

Our mission is to explain and share the things people actually notice: the stores they shop in and the objects they handle, but also the animals, the celebrities, the nostalgia and the human moments that make the internet worth reading.

If you have ever pointed at something and said “why is that like that?” — or sent a story to a friend because it was too good to keep — that’s our subject.

What We Cover

Go Viral publishes across the everyday and the extraordinary:

  • Stores and brands — how retail actually works, and the origins behind names you see every day
  • Everyday objects and design — the signs, symbols and small decisions hiding in plain sight
  • Science and the human body — the explanations behind ordinary experiences
  • Food and drink — where it comes from, and what’s really in it
  • Animals — behaviour, rescues, and the occasional friendship nobody expected
  • Entertainment and pop culture — the people and moments people are talking about
  • Nostalgia — the things that were everywhere once, and what happened to them
  • Human interest — the stories worth passing on

Our Editorial Process & Standards

  • Accuracy. Factual claims are checked against primary sources — the company, the official body, the published study — rather than other sites’ summaries.
  • Clarity. We explain things plainly, without jargon.
  • Corrections. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say what changed. See our Editorial Guidelines.
  • Advertising transparency. Go Viral is supported by advertising. Advertisers have no involvement in what we publish.

Our Team

Go Viral is produced by a small editorial team.

Nina Ross — Founder. Nina founded Go Viral and oversees editorial direction across the Egeek Owl media family.

Nini Berdzenishvili — Lead Writer. Nini has written more than 380 articles for Go Viral, covering everything from retail practices to the origins of everyday objects.

Why You Can Trust Us

  • Everyday focus — we write about what people actually encounter and actually talk about.
  • Editorial oversight — every article is reviewed before publication.
  • Transparency — we are open about how the site is funded.
  • We update — when something changes, or we learn we were wrong, the article changes too.
