The wilderness is home to a variety of animals, some of which can pose a threat to humans. Wild animals are well-known for their dangerous nature and we must not overlook the potential danger presented by coyotes. While they typically do not attack adults, they can be a significant threat to pets and children. Therefore, it is crucial for owners and parents to take precautions to protect their loved ones.
It is important to ensure that pets, especially small ones, are not left to roam freely in the neighborhood. Keeping them supervised and within a safe area can prevent potential encounters with coyotes. Similarly, young children should be closely monitored while playing outside the house. If a coyote comes into close proximity, it is recommended to yell or throw something to deter them.
Coyotes are primarily nocturnal creatures, most active during the night. This is the time when humans should exercise extra caution. However, there have been instances where coyotes have been spotted during the day as well. During such encounters, it is advisable for humans to avoid them whenever possible. These animals may not fear humans and could potentially pose a threat.

A coyote sighting was reported in Los Angeles. Residents of a particular neighborhood stated that they had witnessed a coyote wandering around for several months. Unfortunately, one of these coyotes attacked a 2-year-old girl. The situation could have had tragic consequences, but thanks to the bravery and quick response of the girl’s father, a disaster was averted.
Ariel Eliyahuo, a resident of Woodland Hills, California, had just picked up his daughter, Ariya, from daycare. While Ariel was attending to something in the car, his daughter took a few steps into their yard. Suddenly, a coyote appeared and grabbed the little girl by her legs, biting her and attempting to carry her away. Fortunately, Ariel heard his daughter’s screams and rushed to her aid.
“I heard Ariya scream. I thought she fell down,” recalled Eliyahuo in an interview with CNN. “I ran immediately to see what was going on, and I saw the coyote attack her. I picked her up in my arms and tried to make the coyote go away.” Ariel threw a water bottle at the coyote, stopping it from getting close to them once more.
Moments later, the father brought his daughter inside their house and handed her over to his wife. He then went back outside to ensure that the coyote had left their yard. Concerned for their daughter’s well-being, the parents took her to the Emergency Room, where her scratches were treated, and she received rabies shots. Local authorities made efforts to locate the aggressive coyote with the intention of euthanizing it, but their search yielded no results in the following days.
Ariel Eliyahuo’s actions in rescuing his daughter from the coyote attack exemplify true heroism. His swift response and bravery prevented a potential tragedy.
